Reber Trail

A popular walk, the trail goes from the west end of Fairview Avenue to Reber Road off West Hill.  Several switchbacks take you up through fireweed meadow, offering stunning views of Kachemak Bay.

Access:
Park at Karen Hornaday Park, a half-mile walk to the trail.  Walk south on a trail that leaves the parking area on the east side of the park and turn right along the south end of the park as the trail continues just north of Fairview Avenue. Merge onto Fairview Ave. and continue west for another third of a mile before it ends at the Reber trail.

Distance:  0.4 miles one way (closer to a mile if you park at Karen Hornaday Park)

Elevation change:  155 feet

Trail Management Agency:  City of Homer. The Reber trail sits on land that was donated to the City of Homer by Dene and Edgar Reber as a park to honor Dene’s father, Walter Bell, who lived in Homer from 1916-1921 and homesteaded the land.
